Delivery App Work vs. Courier Delivery Work
What is the difference between getting delivery work with a rideshare or delivery app like Uber, Lyft, DoorDash, Roadie, etc., versus doing Courier Delivery work?
Delivery App work is On-Demand Work. On-Demand deliveries are based on how much work that delivery app gets from its customers in the future. If that app has a lot of demand, then you will get a lot of delivery work. If they are busy this week and next week, but not busy later, your delivery work may fluctuate and will depend on how busy that app is in your area and how many drivers they have.
If they don’t have a lot of drivers in your area, you might get a lot of delivery work, and as they take on more drivers, that work will get spread around, and your deliveries might be lower.
Courier delivery drivers are handling deliveries from courier companies that have customers who need deliveries as well – just like delivery apps. Some of the driving opportunities on CBDriver are on-demand, just like a delivery app, where you will get delivery work as the courier company’s customers need deliveries in the future.
Courier companies also have Routes – Routes are existing delivery work from their customers where they already have the delivery need and know they need drivers for certain days, hours, locations, etc.
Delivery App = On-Demand Work
Courier Delivery = Routes (regular schedule) and On-Demand Work
Routes can be every day, evenings, or weekends, but they usually have a known schedule, with certain locations where you are picking up and delivering on a schedule. And most route deliveries are B to B – Business to Business, where you are picking up from one business and delivering to another business location. You don’t have someone riding in your back seat, and you are not delivering food every day. Many of these routes are Medical, Pharma, or Auto Parts deliveries.
